CCTV images released after passenger is punched – Swindon

Detectives investigating an assault on a train at Swindon are today issuing CCTV images in connection.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Friday 3 March. 

The victim, a man in his 60s, boarded the Swindon-bound train at Reading station and stood toward the front of the train.  A second man, pushing a black electric scooter, also boarded the train at the same time and stood next to the victim.

Both men engaged in a friendly conversation.  However, as the train approached Swindon, the man with the electric scooter suddenly punched the other man to the face several times causing him to bleed before falling and injuring his knee in the process.

Officers believe the person in the images may have information that could help their investigation.
