Appeal for witnesses following sexual assault – Kent

Officers investigating a sexual assault at Canterbury West railway station are appealing for witnesses.

At just before 7pm on 13 June, the victim was at the station when she was approached by a man who began talking to her.

She then sat on a bench on platform one before the man sat down beside her and sexually assaulted her.

A member of the public bravely intervened and stopped the assault. Officers are keen to identify him as they may have information that could be crucial to their investigation.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
