A cyclist who was seriously injured following a collision in Hackney has died.

The 27-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment following the collision on 10 September but died there on 12 September.

His next of kin have been informed and have been supported by specially trained officers.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

An investigation was launched after officers were called at approximately 19:40hrs on Sunday, 10 September to reports of a cyclist who was injured in a collision in Kenworthy Road, E9.

The cyclist was injured after being struck by a car which then collided with another vehicle.

The driver of the car – a 24-year-old woman – was arrested on suspicion of causing GBH by dangerous driving. She has been bailed pending further enquiries until a date in early December.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to appeal to any people who witnessed the collision, or any road users with camera footage, to come forward.
