3 October 2023 15:35 Man appears in court charged with firearms offences A man has appeared in court charged with offences linked to an incident outside Buckingham Palace on 2 May.

A man has appeared at Cumbria Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, 3 October), charged with a number of firearms offences, following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

David Huber, 60 (22.06.63) of North Stainmore, Cumbria was charged yesterday, 2 October, with:

– Possession of a bladed article, contrary to Sections 139(1) & (6) of the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) 1988;

– Possession of an offensive weapon, contrary to Section 141 (1) of the CJA 1988;

– Three counts of possession of ammunition without holding a firearm certificate, contrary to Section 1 of the Firearms Act 1968;

– Possession of a weapon subject to general prohibition, contrary to Section 5 (1)(b) and Schedule 6 of the Firearms Act 1968.

He has been bailed to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 3 November, for a plea and case management hearing.

On 2 May 2023, police officers detained a man after he approached the gates of Buckingham Palace and threw a number of items into the Palace grounds.
