Detectives investigating the murder of Rahaan Ahmed Amin in Newham have made a further arrest.

The 15-year-old boy [F] was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday, 2 August. He remains in custody at an east London police station.

An investigation was launched after police were called to a stabbing at West Ham Park at 17:30hrs on Sunday, 9 July.

Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A 16-year-old boy was found with a stab wound and first aid was provided at the scene. He was taken to an east London hospital where he died the following day.

He was subsequently identified as Rahaan Ahmed Amin. His family has been informed and continue to be supported by officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.

A post-mortem examination which took place on Wednesday, 12 July confirmed he died as a result of a stab wound to the heart.

Five other people have been arrested as part of the same investigation:

A 16-year-old boy [A] was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on Thursday, 13 July. He will next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 3 October.

A 16-year-old [B] and a 14-year-old boy [C] were arrested on Monday, 10 July on suspicion of murder. They were subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.

Two other 16-year-old boys [D and E] who were arrested at the scene were later released without further action.
