Police are appealing for any witnesses to a fatal collision in Kilburn in 2023 to contact them.

Police were called at 15:23hrs on Saturday, 25 November 2023, to a lorry in collision with a pedestrian at the junction of Kilburn High Road and Cambridge Avenue.

Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. The pedestrian, a 71-year-old man, died at the scene.

He has been formally identified as Thomas Murphy, an Irish national who lived in Maida Vale. His family have been informed.

The driver of the lorry stopped nearby a short time later and has been spoken to by police. There has been no arrest.

An inquest has opened and adjourned at Barnet Coroner’s Court.

Detective Sergeant Becca Collens, of the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The police investigation is ongoing, which has included obtaining CCTV footage that is central to this investigation.

“However we have been unable to make contact with two key witnesses who provided details to officers at the scene. I am appealing for those two men to make contact with me.

“I also need to hear from anyone else who saw the incident but has yet to speak with police. I am keen to have witness accounts as well as CCTV material and other evidence available for the inquest.”
