A former officer has been charged following an investigation by the Met’s Anti-Abuse and Corruption Command.
Former trainee constable Ishmael Donegan, aged 26 and previously attached to the North Area Basic Command Unit, was charged on Wednesday, 6 September with four counts of misconduct in a public office.
Detectives from the Met’s Anti-Abuse and Corruption Command launched an investigation in December 2021 into allegations of computer misuse and the sharing of police information.
Donegan was interviewed about the allegations in December 2022 and he resigned from the Met in February 2023.
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, responsible for local policing in north London, said: “We expect our officers to uphold to highest standards and allegations of wrongdoing will be investigated. Criminal proceedings are ongoing and I am unable to comment further to avoid prejudicing this process.”
Two other people were charged as part of the same investigation:
Nonna Khabazz, 26 (20.05.97), of Summer Road, Birmingham, was charged on Wednesday, 6 September with two counts of encouraging misconduct in a public office.
Blain Brown, 23 (30.03.00), of no fixed address, was charged on Wednesday, 6 September with two counts of encouraging misconduct in a public office.
All three will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 20 September.
The investigation was carried out under direction of the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
