Detectives are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Bermondsey left a man with serious head injuries.
Police were called at around 18:25hrs on Tuesday, 16 May to a report of a man, aged in his 40s, with head and facial injuries on Janeway Place, SE16.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack or saw anything out of the ordinary in the area at the time.
Detective Inspector Yasser Awad, from Central South BCU, said: “This appears to have been a brutal attack and one which has left the victim in a very serious condition in hospital.
“We are carrying our urgent enquiries to try and establish exactly what happened but we would like to hear from anyone who has information that could help our investigation. This includes anyone who might have CCTV or doorbell footage in the surrounding areas.”
