11 July 2023 17:27 Murder investigation launched in Hayes A murder investigation has been launched following a stabbing in Hayes – a man has been arrested.

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbed in Hayes.

Police were called at 04:33hrs on Tuesday, 11 July to reports of a man acting erratically with a knife at a residential property in Melina Close, Hayes.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

A man, aged in his 50s, was found inside the property with a stab wound to his neck.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he sadly died at the scene.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

The arrested man was taken to hospital, where he will be assessed before being taken into custody.

The suspect and the victim were known to one another.

The investigation is led by Detective Inspector Adam Guttridge of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command. He said: “We are at the very early stages of our investigation and enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances.

“A man is in custody and no other persons are sought by my team at this time.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family.”
