Detectives investigating the death of a man in Brent have made an arrest.

The 28-year-old man was arrested on Friday, 11 August on suspicion of murder. He was taken to a north London police station where he remains at this time.

Police were called at 22:45hrs on Thursday, 10 August to concerns for the welfare of a man at a residential property on Casselden Road, NW10.

Officers responded and forced entry to the property; inside they found a 40-year-old man with head injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is being treated as suspicious and detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have begun a murder investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, leading the investigation, said: “My thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and we will do everything we can to support them as our investigation progresses.

“Based on our initial enquiries, we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no indication of any wider risk to the community.

“I know that incidents like this can have a significant impact on the community and local people will notice a visible police presence in the area in the coming days to provide reassurance and to respond to any concerns you may have.”

The man’s next of kin have been informed and they will be supported by family liaison officers.

A post-mortem examination to establish how the man died will take place in the coming days.
