1 November 2023 15:40 Appeal to identify 12 people following offences at recent protests The images were captured during pro-Palestine protests in central London on Saturday, 14 and Saturday, 28 October.

Officers are asking for the public’s help to identify 12 people suspected of offences at recent protests.

The images were captured during pro-Palestine protests in central London on Saturday, 14 and Saturday, 28 October.

The people are suspected of a range of offences, including using discriminatory language and causing an affray.

Thousands of officers were on-duty during the protests, which were largely peaceful.

However, a small number of people were responsible for unacceptable behaviour which has no place on the streets of the capital.

We will not tolerate hate crime and our commitment to Londoners is that we will act to make sure people are safe.

Some of these suspects were identified by teams who review footage captured during protests and identify anyone who may have committed offences.

Commander Colin Wingrove said: “We will take a zero-tolerance approach to any behaviour which crosses the lines into criminality.

“We know that many people in London are feeling vulnerable following the terrorist attacks on Israel and subsequent conflict with Hamas.

“It is completely unacceptable that a minority of people have used peaceful protest to foster hate and division.

“We know that others will be appalled as well and we ask for their help to identify these individuals and report other suspected hate crimes.”

Each image being released is identified by a letter:

Eleven people [A-L excluding H] are suspected of causing racially aggravated alarm, harassment and distress, an offence under the Public Order Act.

[H] is suspected of causing affray.
