Detectives investigating the murder of Julian Ebanks-Ford in Peckham have released footage of a car they want to identify.

The driver of the car – which was on Kender Street, SE15 at the time of the incident – may have witnessed the events unfold and could hold crucial information.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood from the Met’s Homicide Investigation Team leads the investigation and said:

“We have issued CCTV footage from Kender Street which shows a small white car, possibly a Smart car, who we think would have seen a significant part of this incident.

“It is possible that the driver and anyone else inside the vehicle are witnesses to this incident and I can reassure them they will receive all the support they require should they come forward to speak to us.

“The car had turned into Kender Street from Queens Road and came to abrupt stop as Julian and the suspect ran across in front of the vehicle.”

Julian died after being stabbed in Kender Street in the early hours of 4 August.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. Julian, aged 20, was found with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died later that afternoon.

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command continue to support his family and they have been informed of this development.

A post-mortem examination on Saturday, 5 August confirmed Julian died as a result of a single stab wound.
