24 July 2023 14:05 Five arrests in Brent murder investigation Milton Hurlington, 42, of north west London was fatally attacked in King Edward VII Park on Monday 17 July

Five people have been arrested on suspicion of murder one week after the death of man in Brent.

Milton Hurlington, 42, of north west London was fatally attacked in King Edward VII Park on Monday 17 July and Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley is continuing a public appeal for information as her team carry out the investigation.

Five people, all male and aged in their late teens to early twenties, were arrested on Sunday 23 July on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody.

DCI Bradley said: “First and foremost, my thoughts continue to be with Milton’s family and friends at what is an incredibly difficult time. Specialist support is being given by my team.

“We believe Milton was attacked in King Edward VII Park and then made his way to The Dene, where residents discovered him and called the emergency services.

“These recent arrests are an important development but I remain keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything out of the ordinary in the park and surrounding areas on Monday 17 July between 6pm and 10:45pm to come forward. Please do not hesitate to get in touch, no matter how insignificant you may think your information to be- it could be the key to our investigation.”

Police were called at 21:49hrs on the night of the attack to reports of a man with a stab injury in The Dene, Wembley.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance all attended. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, Mr Hurlington died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination established cause of death as blood loss following a stab wound to the arm.

Two man and a woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and later released on bail to return at a future date.
