Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was violently attacked in Croydon.
Police were called shortly before 14:00hrs on Friday, 9 June, to reports of a disturbance at a residential address in Grenaby Avenue, Croydon.
Officers attended and found a 29-year-old woman suffering from stab injuries. They immediately provided first aid.
The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended. The woman was taken to a south London hospital where she remains in a critical condition. Her family has been informed.
A second woman, aged 23, was treated for a minor injury.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station.
A crime scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
