Details

The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, The Rt Hon Steve Reed MP, has issued a direction to the Environment Agency. 

The direction will allow specified back-up gas compressor units in England, with a limited life derogation (LLD), to operate until 31 March 2026 if needed. This is to address security of gas supply issues if they arise.  

Published and in force from 1 October 2024. 

This direction immediately follows the Environmental Protection (England) (Extension of Limited Lifetime Derogation End Date) (Hatton) Direction 2023.
