On Tuesday, 2 April, we appealed for information regarding the whereabouts of 54-year-old Philip Theophilou who had absconded from a mental health facility in east London.
Officers carried out lengthy enquiries including a review of CCTV footage.
In the early hours of Thursday, 4 April, officers were called to a south London hospital.
Theophilou was detained and has been returned to the facility.
We are continuing to liaise with partner organisations regarding how he absconded.
