18 January 2024 06:30 CCTV issued following assault in Shoreditch pub Officers investigating an assault in a Shoreditch pub have issued CCTV in an attempt to identify two men.

Officers investigating an assault in Shoreditch are appealing for help to trace two men in connection with the incident.

The attack took place at about 22:30hrs on Saturday, 30 September 2023 in the Crown and Shuttle pub on Shoreditch High Street when the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was involved in an altercation with two unknown men.

One of the two men then attacked the victim by hitting him over the head with a pint glass before running off.

The victim suffered an injury to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged and is being supported by officers.

PC Oliver Barlow, leading the investigation, said: “This was a brutal attack that left the victim with a serious injury that required stitches and months of healing.

“We are doing everything we can to find those responsible and have carried out a number of enquiries since the night of the attack, including speaking with witnesses and looking at CCTV.

“We have now identified two men we would like to speak to in connection with the assault and are appealing for help from members of the public to trace them.

“If you were at the Crown and Shuttle pub on the evening of this attack, please look closely at this footage and let us know if you remember seeing either of these men on that night. Similarly, if you recognise them or have any information about the incident, please come forward.

“This may just be the information we need to progress our investigation”.
