Former PC Cliff Mitchell has been charged with six further counts of rape.
Mitchell, aged 23, who was attached to the West Area Basic Command Unit, was charged on Wednesday, 6 December with three counts of rape of a girl aged under 13 and three counts of rape of a girl aged 13/14/15.
The offences all involve the same victim and allegedly took place between 2014 and 2017 at an address in south-west London.
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 13 December.
Mitchell was dismissed from the Met on Thursday, 7 December. We will not be discussing the circumstances around this at this time so as to avoid prejudicing any criminal trial.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Stuart Cundy said: “I fully understand that the charging of a former officer may cause significant concern among Londoners at a time when we are working to rebuild confidence and trust.
“To avoid prejudicing ongoing criminal proceedings, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
